Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting the local community and businesses within it. They work year-round to give Suffolk producers and businesses a platform to showcase what they do, and get recognition and awareness from chefs, restaurants and business people all over the country.
I've worked with the Festival since 2023, first designing various touch points including flags, banners, aprons, signage, and proposal documents. I also refreshed the logo to improve the kerning and overall finish of the design.

The Festival's iconic branding has stood the test of time but was in need of some refinement. By fixing the kerning (the space between each letter), the logo is clean, balanced and ready to be used for many more years.

I design the official festival guide, a key printed document produced every year in a dynamic newspaper format. This guide is all about making navigation simple for attendees.
I focus on designing a clear information hierarchy and intuitive maps so people can quickly find schedules, venue details, and essential event information, which ultimately makes their festival experience much smoother and more enjoyable.

"Lily has been a joy to work with from start to finish. Apart from her obvious design talent, Lily is efficient and very easy to communicate with, which goes a long way when working remotely and to tight deadlines. Lily sits somewhere between designer and artworker, which has been a huge benefit to us."

The Festival launched its first-ever children's activity book in 2023, and I was responsible for the project from conception. Given its importance as a new product, the design needed to be eye-catching and appropriate for a younger audience without deviating from the core brand identity.
I developed a foundational visual framework using a fun, cohesive colour palette paired with dynamic typography, illustrations, and photography. While the theme and visual execution evolve annually, these core elements have become iconic.
Three years on, the activity book is a recognised and valued annual feature that successfully entertains children throughout the entire weekend.

"We’d give a brief and relevant assets, and Lily would take it to the next level every time, adding extra design points and copy to fit the brief. This saved us time and developed our projects into something better than we imagined. We definitely wouldn’t go anywhere else for future design work."
